After a brief thunderstorm, we walked over to Sapwood Cellars for a quick beer. I ordered a Frenchmen pizza made with brie, figs, and honey from the Dizzy Cow Pizzeria, today’s food truck.

I ordered a Lord of Light, figuring the low ABV pale ale would go well with pizza. I retrieved the pizza from a man with a T-shirt reading, “I eat cow pies”. The very expensive Italian portable pizza oven cooked up my pizza in just 5 minutes! The pizza was excellent but the Lord of Light’s hop blend was a bit overpowering for the pizza. The sweeter and milder Cloud Palace would have been a better partner with my Frenchmen pizza. If you like brie and honey (I do), this pizza is for you.

For dessert, the Boom, Mexican Hot Chocolate was exceptional. I loved the cocoa flavors with a hint of chili spice; cinnamon flavor up front with a buttery finish. This is a beer I will seek out again!

Cheers!
