For our annual trek to Philadelphia, we are changing things up. Instead of riding in a comfy Amtrak train, we opted for the less expensive BoltBus. It is bumpy, with cramped seats, and stop and go traffic at times (we are already a half hour late due to congestion. But the WiFi is free (but slow), there’s plenty of plugs for our phones and the AC is deliciously cool.

An annual tradition for a few of us is to watch the Blue Angels rehearse before the navy graduation. It’s free and open to the public. Some years friends and I ride bikes into Annapolis, have lunch and watch the terrific air show. This year, we were lazy and drove. The weather was perfect.

Many years ago, I experienced the insanity of the infield but this will be Mrs. Adventures first time. We are looking forward to a civilized experience in the Grand Stand.

The Maryland Craft Beer Festival offered nearly 200 different beers from 56 breweries. With that many ales to chose from, Pierce, dBear, and I left Laurel, MD on the BAMbus from Jailbreak Brewing so we could drink responsibly.

Continue reading Dogfish Head to Merge with Boston BeerMrs. Adventures and I went to the Baltimore Flower Mart yesterday. The city closes a few blocks of Charles Street around the Washington Monument. There is live music, lectures, food, beer, wine, flowers, and plants. It was fun. I walked away with a mushroom log that I will put in my backyard. If all goes well, I’ll be harvesting white oyster mushrooms this summer. Perhaps there is an oyster mushroom stout homebrew in my future?
