Last night, I savored every drop a Pierce Kolsch. Here are my Untappd notes on this delicious homebrew. Nailed it! This slightly fruity beer ends with a crisp finish. Nice, easy drinking kolsch. I’ll have another!!

VinePair, The ‘Boss Pour’ Is Bad for Your Beer, but Good for the ‘Gram. I had never heard of a ‘Boss Pour’, the practice of pouring a beer to the rim without foam in oddly shaped glasses. I guess it’s some sort of artistic expression and looks good. I’ll stick with a beer with a nice head, thank you.

WTOP, Lawmakers override veto, strip Md. comptroller of alcohol and tobacco oversight. I’ve met Comptroller Peter Franchot a few times and have seen him speak on many occasions. He is a brash, independent politician and a huge supporter of the Maryland beer industry. I see the stripping of the comptroller’s alcohol and tobacco oversight as an expensive punishment for Franchot’s outspoken remarks about other Democrats. The new law, which takes effect in 2020, requires the governor to appoint a commission for alcohol and tobacco to replace the state comptroller. I wonder if Peter Franchot will be part of that commission.

scotteblog.com, HoCo Brew Hive To Replace T-Bonz In Ellicott City Maryland. So, this is not at all beer related but it’s Howard County. Also, T-Bonz was a beer centric restaurant. Despite the name, HoCo Brew Hive is not about beer or brewing but all about honey themed food. They are hoping to open this summer.
