Nepenthe Brewing, a brewpub and homebrew shop, opens January 25th at 4:00 PM on 3626 Falls Road in Baltimore. Besides 6 beers on tap, they will offer wine, a full bar, and a full menu.

I have not visited the homebrew shop but I did enter a homebrew contest several years ago in Towson sponsored by Towson Radio and Nepenthe. I brought a case of Everyday is Saturday IPA. I had made this beer several times and always enjoyed it. Of course, this time the beer was simply horrible. I offered it anyway, handed out samples in the pouring rain. The beer was very green and under carbonated, so I used my SodaStream to add some CO². It was very messy. What a disaster. There were over 25 homebrewers if my memory is correct, and I tasted many samples and talked to every homebrewer. Believe it or not, I had a great time and have always held fond memories of that Nepenthe event.
