Columbia, MD October 3, 2018
The Frisco Tap House put an interesting spin on their seventh Punktoberfest; they offered an even mix of pumpkin ales and Oktoberfest beers.
The Columbia Pint Crew had a big turnout with more than 12 people showing up to sample some autumnal ales and lagers. I picked a Warsteiner marzen/Oktoberfest, sticking with a German made lager during Oktoberfest. It’s a toasty, drinkable marzen.
My friend, John, ordered a Victory Festbier. He called it “a delicious Oktoberfest (marzen) beer”. The Oktoberfest beer of the night was the Hofbrau Oktoberfest. It is a sweet, lightly hopped, easy drinking lager.
Like all Wednesday Pint Nights at Frisco, we received glassware for the beers we ordered. I received a 22-ounce Pilsner glass for my marzen. The huge Victory mug was a big hit; it should be great at Black Flag’s bring your own mug nights.
Cheers!
