Hurricane Florence missed Columbia, MD. That’s a relief but Flo still might drop more rain on this soggy county, probably next week. I celebrated Flo’s miss with a rare (for me) Friday night visit to Frisco Tap House. They were featuring The Bruery, a wonderful California brewery.

Sapwort Ginger Homebrew
Columbia, MD September 13, 2018
A couple weeks ago, Sapwood Cellars gave away batches of wort. Wort, BTW, is unfermented beer. After picking up my 5-gallons of wort, I pitched a couple of packets of US-05 yeast and let it ferment. So…after about 10 days of waiting, today is bottling day! Continue reading Sapwort Ginger Homebrew

Warren’s Diet Plan
I love craft beer. Why? It tastes good, it’s always fun to have with friends, it’s relatively inexpensive, and craft beer seems to be everywhere. Unfortunately for me, drinking beer leads to weight gain. I think I’ve come up with a way of managing my weight AND continuing to enjoy craft beer. Continue reading Warren’s Diet Plan

Beer Reads
Last night, we shared dinner with friends at The White Oak Tavern in Ellicott City. What a great place, with great food and a fantastic craft beer list! They make a terrific hamburger which paired nicely with a Monument City American Brown Ale. Continue reading Beer Reads
