For Father’s day, my family took me to Waredaca Brewing. This farm brewery has lots of outdoor picnic tables, welcoming you to bring your own food and taste a few craft beers.
Waredaca (Washington Recreational Day Camp) has transformed from its day camp roots back in 1932, to an equestrian center today. The brewery draws families and on this very hot Father’s Day, just about every picnic table was full of picnickers celebrating their time together.
We found the last open table directly across from the band, the King Street Bluegrass. Although we enjoyed the bluegrass music, we moved away from the sunny, hot, and loud table to a cooler and quieter location as soon as possible.
It is difficult to find Waredaca. In fact, the King Street Bluegrass delayed playing, waiting for their lead singer who was temporarily lost. They were worth the wait. With a banjo, harmonica, upright bass and guitar, their music was lively and entertaining.
The beer was quite good. On this hot and muggy day, I found the Bunkhouse Saison to be refreshing. We all shared a flight, but the day was too hot for much beer drinking. The lemonade with rosemary, thyme, and orange? was quite a hit.
Cheers!
Warren
