Columbia, MD June 27, 2018
Mrs. Adventures and I just road our bikes down to the Oakland Mills Farmers’ Market. It’s less than 2 miles from my house. This Memorial Day Sunday, we’re cherishing the Columbia experience by riding our bikes to the local market, buying vegetables, tomato plants and beer. That’s 3 of my favorite things: beer, bikes & gardens.
We bought greens from Kenny, an Anne Arundel farmer and regular vendor of OM’s farmers’ market. Another regular is the Howard County farm, TLV Tree Farm, where I bought a couple Celebrity tomato plants. I’ve never tried these slicing tomatoes but hope for the best.
A special treat was the Milkhouse Brewery. They offered free tastings plus bottles and crowlers for purchase. I sampled their Farmhouse, their English-style bitter, and their Staircase IPA. I picked up a crowler of Staircase for tomorrow’s neighborhood street picnic.
Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm is a farm brewery in Mount Air, MD. For those not wanting to make the 40-minute drive to 8253 Dollyhyde Road, Milkhouse ales can be found at the HoCo farmers’ markets at Oakland Mills on the 4th Sunday of the month or the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Miller’s Library.l
For those wanting the full Milkhouse experience, visit the 8th Annual BrewFest on the Farm on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from noon to 6 PM.
Warren
Nice write up Warren……I got out on my bike yesterday. Rode through Blandair Park to Sewell’s Orchard. Up to REI then back down to Lake Elkhorn. Nice day for a ride.
