Fells Point, Maryland
Forty delicious craft beers on tap plus antelope, camel and water buffalo burgers, who could ask for more? I was enjoying a quiet weekday afternoon in Fells Point at Abbey Burger Bistro and loving it.
I ordered a Union Old Pro Tee Time Raspberry Lemon at the Abbey Burger Bistro of Fells Point as I waited for the rest of my party to arrive. A few people wandering in on this beautiful day. As I savored my Gose, I looked over the extensive beer list. On tap were many Belgian classics like Duchesse de Bourgogne, La Chouffe, and Duvel as well as local favorites from Union, Olivers, and Monument City to name a few.
My party came in and we found a table. Nicole, my bartender, was also our server – actually she was efficiently handling the entire place. The build-your-own burgers looked like a great idea, but I couldn’t resist the exotic slider special. They were all delicious, as were all the burgers at the table. Brian and my Baltimore guide says Abbey Burger has the best burgers in Baltimore.
Most of my Fells Point experiences have been at night, having a few beers at the bars. The day-time experience is, I think, even better. My walk along the water was enjoyable, strolling past beautiful homes, a couple elegant hotels, and many, many restaurants and pubs.
Abbey Burger is just a block from the water and very close to Max’s Taphouse. If you are in the neighborhood, it is well worth a visit.
Cheers!
