Columbia, MD
Howard County’s newest brewery, Hysteria Brewing Co., made it official, holding their ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. Co-owner Rich Gue held the big scissors, while his partners Geoff Lopes and Jordan Banes cheered him on. Also in attendance were County Executive Allan Kittleman, MD State Senator Guy Guzzone, MD Delegate Shane Pendergrass, Howard County Chamber of Commerce President Leonardo McClarty and Columbia Association President/CEO Milton Matthews.
The owners of Hysteria, Rich, Jordan, and Geoff also own the Vapor’s Knoll, the vape shop located next door. They have successfully run that store for the past 5 years.
For co-owner, Rich Gue, this is an extra special day. He is a homebrewer and avid craft beer fan, something we have in common. Also, I learned that Rich is an Oakland Mills alumnus, just like my kids– go Scorpians!
After the ceremony, delicious beer samples were offered and Zach Michel led a tour of their 20-barrel brewery. Meanwhile, State Senator Guy Guzzone and I exchanged quest stories. As you know I’m hoping to visit 57 MD breweries this year — 32 complete today. Guy is hoping to visit all the state capitals. So far, 15 capitals for him. Good luck, Guy!
Cheers!
