First off, let me apologize. This week I have been neglectful of Warren’s Beer Adventures. I do have a reason – we are redoing our master bedroom.
As you can see by the picture below, this is not just a repainting or moving the furniture. We have taken down wallboard and re-insulated, hung a ceiling fan and replaced the aluminum wiring with copper.
Thanks to this rehab project, other projects have suffered. I had planned to attend the Reform on Tap Task Force at Calvert Brewing in Upper Marlboro but time did not allow for that. Also, SPBW had an event at Key Brewing in Dundalk which I missed. So, I have some catching up to do.
This week Baltimore’s own, Union Craft Brewing was at Frisco Tap House. I had the When I Say Charm, You Saison!, despite Dbear’s attempt to drain the keg. Here’s his GroupMe message:
Let’s try to kill the saison before Warren gets there, don’t be late
As an added bonus, they had one of my favorite’s, Old Chub on nitro!
Here’s a shout out to Abby for reading my blog. In fact, she read every single one, as the stat page below shows. Also, she mentioned that it is a “good read”.
Reform on Tap Task Force
Virginia continues to court Maryland breweries. In fact, Virginia asked Calvert Brewing when their lease ended. They offered to pay any fees for Calvert to cancel their lease and come to Virginia. Five new or nearly open breweries have also had serious discussions with Virginia about changing their plans and opening in Virginia. Also, there was quite a lot of discussion about the importance of tap rooms for breweries as well as contract brewing.
Eight of us will be heading to Philly Beer week today. I’m bringing my laptop and will try to keep you up to date.
Cheers!
Warren
PS I planted my Nugget hop rhizomes yesterday in my side yard. I’ll keep you posted on their progress.
