Frisco Tap House
Eric, a wandering mug clubber was back in town, so we had an impromptu reunion at Frisco Tap House.
All five of us were Frisco Mug Club members. Membership requires stringent training and a grueling test at the end — drink 99 unique beers at Frisco and chug a Natty Boh as your 100th beer.
We all ordered dinner and beers. The Spinach & Beet Salad is terrific, by the way. For old times sake, Eric and Zaven got into an argument and split a Holy Trinity ( guacamole, salsa, and queso). I ordered a Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin, a yummy IPA.
The manager, Keith, comes to our table and gives each of us a ticket. It turns out it is You pick a Beer for Mug Club members. Eric won but he will be back in Minnesota, so he gave his ticket to Paul. Paul gets to choose an available keg of beer, which he can tap next Sunday. Also, his first beer is free (with conditions). Paul picked Green Flash’s Palate Wrecker. It is only appropriate that Paul (Mr. HopNose) would pick an aggressively hopped IPA with an IBU rating of 149! Just thinking of drinking a beer with International Bitterness Units of 149 hurts my teeth.
Cheers!
