The Chesapeake Bay Branch of the Society for the Preservation of Beers from the Wood (SPBW) celebrated their 20th Anniversary at the Wharf Rat last night.

The planned events at the Fells Point establishment were:

 

• 4:00 – Founding members Joe Gold and Bill Oliver will tap a cask of Snow Goose
• 5:00 – A toast to the founders
• 6:00 – Cake
• 7:00 – Distribution of commemorative glasses
• 8:00 – Anniversary toast to mark the moment of the first meeting.

The Chesapeake Chapter of SPBW is the only US-based chapter of SPBW. They meet once a month to savor cask-conditioned real ale.
